Tottenham Reveals The Next Manager To Replace Conte

In the race to replace Antonio Conte at Tottenham, Marco Silva is currently emerging as the front-runner. Conte’s future at Spurs is uncertain with his contract set to expire at the end of the season. Although the Italian manager has stated that he will remain in charge for the remainder of the campaign, talks of an extension have yet to materialize.

Sources suggest that Spurs have identified Silva, currently in charge at Fulham, as a leading candidate to take over should Conte depart. Silva, a Portuguese coach, has overseen an impressive season at Craven Cottage, leading Fulham to automatic promotion back to the Premier League in May. Despite a recent 3-0 home defeat to league leaders Arsenal, Fulham are on track to finish in the top half of the table and are currently in contention for a European spot with 11 games left to play.

Marco Silva, a 45-year-old manager whose contract with Fulham ends in the summer of 2022, is highly regarded for his abilities as a young and talented coach. Despite being sacked by Everton in December 2019, Silva has rebuilt his reputation in west London with an impressive performance as the boss of Fulham.

Antonio Conte could leave Tottenham at the end of the season

In the quest to find a new manager for Tottenham, several other names have been linked to the job, including former Tottenham manager Mauricio Pochettino, ex-Spain and Barcelona head coach Luis Enrique, and former Chelsea boss Thomas Tuchel.

Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy is known for his preference for a financially responsible approach to building a team, and Silva’s ability to compete without a massive transfer budget is likely to have caught his attention.

However, it is unclear whether the appointment of Silva would convince Tottenham captain Harry Kane that the club has a realistic chance of winning trophies in the near future. This uncertainty may force Kane to consider his options and potentially explore a move during the upcoming summer transfer window.

Tottenham’s chairman, Daniel Levy, and their director of football, Fabio Paratici, are set to begin the search for a replacement for Antonio Conte. After having sacked Jose Mourinho in April 2021 and missing out on several high-profile candidates, they appointed Nuno Espirito Santo, who lasted only 10 Premier League games before being replaced by Conte.

Conte, who signed an 18-month contract in November 2021 with an option for an additional year, led the club to a fourth-placed finish last season. However, despite spending £170 million in the summer transfer window, the team is currently struggling to secure a top-four finish and is 18 points behind league leaders and local rivals Arsenal.

The Italian manager has been under fire in recent weeks for his team selection and tactical approach, as Tottenham were knocked out of both the FA Cup fifth round by Sheffield United and the Champions League last 16 by AC Milan. Levy and Paratici will be hoping to avoid a repeat of the disappointing hiring process that led to the appointment of Nuno, as they work to identify the best candidate to take over at Tottenham.
