Marvelous Nakamba, the England-based midfielder, was hosted by officials from the British Embassy in Harare, Zimbabwe, on Wednesday.

During the meeting, Nakamba had the opportunity to meet with Geraldine O’Callaghan, the deputy ambassador and Development Director of the embassy. Isabelle Abbott Pugh, the embassy’s Social Development Adviser, was also present, along with representatives from the Marvelous Nakamba Foundation (MNF).

O’Callaghan took to Twitter to express her appreciation for the meeting, highlighting the discussion around Nakamba’s foundation, MNF. She stated, “Really enjoyed meeting with Marvelous Nakamba and hearing about the work his foundation is doing, supporting Zimbabwean learners with books, school fees, and food. Inspiring!”

The MNF was established as Nakamba’s way of giving back to the community through the combined power of sport and education. The foundation has already made a significant impact by paying school fees for over 10,000 pupils across the country and providing assistance to fifty schools.

Furthermore, the MNF is currently involved in the development of the Marvelous Nakamba Sporting Complex in Bulawayo, which aims to provide a dedicated facility for sports activities.

The meeting between Marvelous Nakamba and British Embassy officials showcased the collaborative efforts to support education and sports initiatives in Zimbabwe, reinforcing the positive impact they can have on local communities.
