A young Zimbabwean footballer named Farai Mutatu is currently undergoing training with Sheasham, a top-tier team in the United States. During a pre-season friendly match against Ngezi Platinum Stars held at the Gweru Sports Club on Saturday, the forward made an appearance.

Sheasham, a newly-promoted team in the Premier Soccer League, confirmed prior to the match that the player from LA Galaxy (USA) would be participating in the friendly game against Ngezi Platinum Stars.

Mutatu is currently in his home country, waiting for his immigration paperwork to be finished. He was chosen by Galaxy in the first round of the 2022 draft but didn’t get to play at all that year.

The coach of Galaxy, Greg Vanney, recently gave an update and said that they still want Mutatu to join the team.

If he can complete his immigration paperwork, he’ll be able to play alongside Teenage Hadebe, who also plays in the MLS for Houston Dynamo, and is from the same country as Mutatu.
