Firmino’s Future In Doubt After Klopp’s Decisive Move

Roberto Firmino has been an instrumental part of Liverpool’s success under Jurgen Klopp, forming one-third of the deadly attacking trio alongside Mo Salah and Sadio Mane. However, as is the case in football, all good things must come to an end.

With Mane having left Liverpool already, Firmino’s decision to leave will mean that only Salah remains from the formidable trio that contributed to 399 of Liverpool’s 611 goals between 2017 and 2022, according to the Daily Mail.

This season has seen Firmino’s playing time reduced under Klopp, and at 31 years of age, the Brazilian is approaching the twilight of his career and needs to be playing regularly.

Therefore, it is perhaps with this in mind that he has decided to leave Liverpool after learning of Klopp’s plans for him for next season.

Reportedly, negotiations with Firmino made it clear that he would not be getting as much game time as he would have liked, according to 90min. This, coupled with the player’s desire for regular football, has likely led to his decision to move on from Anfield.
