FIFA President Infantino Outlines Ambitious New Goals

Gianni Infantino was re-elected for another term as FIFA president during the 73rd FIFA Congress in Kigali, Rwanda on Thursday. The 51-year-old was unopposed and will continue to serve until 2027, after first being elected in an extraordinary congress in 2016 following the resignation of Sepp Blatter.

This marks Infantino’s second term as FIFA president, and according to FIFA rules, he will be eligible for a third and final term in four years’ time. This congress also marked a historic moment for FIFA, as it was the first elective FIFA Congress to take place in Africa.

Infantino has pledged to ensure the growth and unity of the global game through football, and he will continue to work towards achieving these goals during his new term as FIFA president.
