Azzedine Ounahi (22) has decided to make a $10 million transfer from Angers to Ligue 1 powerhouse Marseille. The midfielder for the Morocco national team was a remarkable performer at the 2022 FIFA World Cup.

Ounahi, a former player for Mohammed VI Academy and Raja CA, joined Strasbourg in 2018. He transferred to Championnat National team Avranches in August 2020.

Ligue 1 team Angers announced the signing of Ounahi on July 14, 2021, for a four-year contract. On August 15, 2021, he made his professional debut by netting in the team’s 3-0 league victory over Lyon.

Due to his standout performances for Morocco at the 2022 FIFA World Cup, a number of elite clubs in Europe expressed interest in him. On January 29, 2023, Ounahi formally signed with fellow Ligue 1 team Marseille for a reported 8 million euros plus add-ons, and he signed a deal that would last until June 2027.
