Pitso Mosimane had been quite taken with the late utility player Oshwin Andries. So much so, that he had his analysts tracking the 19yearold‘s every move.

No wonder, given that Andries had been steadily developing since his Premier Soccer League debut in December 2021, with the South Africa Under20 captain making eight league appearances, including five starts.

His last competitive match was when he started in the 32 win over Cape Town City on January 27. It‘s no surprise then, that the South African football fraternity was plunged into mourning when news of Andries passing broke out. Tributes have been pouring in ever since, with Mosimane himself admitting that Andries had charmed him and that he had been keeping a close eye on his progress.

Even in death, Oshwin Andries continues to be remembered fondly by his peers and fans alike. Such was the impact of the young player, who had been on the cusp of a great career. May he rest in peace.
