Zungu explained the thorough process undertaken to select Martin as their preferred coach, with multiple applications received and interviews conducted. He expressed satisfaction with the quality of candidates who shared their visions for Usuthu, highlighting the club’s desirability as an attractive prospect for potential head coaches.

Martin brings a wealth of experience to Usuthu, having previously coached Simba Sports Club in Tanzania, as well as having a stint in Kuwait and serving as an assistant coach at Real Madrid in his native Spain.

After finishing 12th in the previous season with 33 points, narrowly avoiding relegation by just three points ahead of Maritzburg United, who went down via play-offs, Amazulu will look to Martin to deliver the success the club eagerly seeks.
