A True Leader In And Outside The Pitch: Captain At Every Team He Joins
Former Warriors captain Knowledge Musona has been once again entrusted with the captaincy at his new club Al Riyadh in the Saudi Pro League.
The honour is a clear testimony that the Zimbabwean was born a leader as he was also bestowed with the same role at his previuos club Al Tai which competes in the same league as Al Riyadh.
Interestingly, Musona is yet to make his debut for the club but already he has been deemed fit to lead the club as they embark on a journey to challenge for the title in the coming new season.
Perhaps, his expereience which is way above the rest of his teammates at Al Riyadh has led the team to entrust him with the captaincy role.
Musona who never featured for any local team in the country’s (Zimbabwe) topflight has played professionally in South Africa, Germany and Belgium before moving to Saudi Arabia in 2021.
He (Musona) joined the Riyadh-based side last month after leaving Al Tai at the end of the 2022/23 Saudi Pro League season a few months back.
During his time at Al Tai, the 33-year-old former Zimbabwe international had asserted himself as one of the top and most consistent players in the team and his performances week-in week-out spoke volumes of how valuable a player he was in the Al Tai dressing room.
Given his pedigree, it is believed his leadership qualities will help Al Riyadh achieve better this coming season, and the club’s head coach Yannick Ferrera also appears to be counting on Musona’s experience ahead of the new season hence entrusting him with the captaincy.
